Home is Where The Heart Is

We want to do it all! Juggling marriage, home, and work is no easy task! Let’ s start with Marriage: it is hard. Even for those who are deeply in love!  Throw kids in the mix, along with any life changes, and that’s when it really gets fun!

Home and Marriage

Home Is Where The Heart Is

But Home is Where The Heart Is.  Does the house always have to be clean? Of course not. Is Breakfast for dinner ok sometimes? Yes!  I run a tight ship out of necessity and I am doing my best!

Several times a week, I hear from someone, “I don’t know how you do it!” How do I manage three young kiddos, home and work responsibilities, while my husband works his tail off six days a week? (ok, let’s be honest, there is no day off. He’s a restaurant owner!) It can be chaotic, but I have picked up a few tricks along the way thanks to advice from other moms’s out there.   To me, it’s plain and simple: This is the only life we’ve known together. I married an amazing man and I knew going into this marriage, he was a restaurant guy. We would never have the conventional 9 to 5, Monday through Friday kind of world. So together, we make it work the best we can! As the wife and mom who make our Home go ’round, sure I experience challenge, but challenge builds character.

So, how do I do it?  For starters, I love my husband deeply and unconditionally. And no, that doesn’t mean every day is paradise at home. Although, it would be nice if it were that easy. I lean on my mother, sister and friends for support and help with the girls. I pray a lot and give it up to God daily, asking for strength, wisdom and peace. I sing, I find ways to be creative, I eat, I drink wine and I dream of travel with my family. I menu plan and clip coupons (thank you Money Savings Mom!). I take deep breaths when my kids have me at my wit’s end and I give myself grace when I blow my lid. Did I mention I drink wine?
